Keno was created in two hundred BC by the Chinese army commander, Cheung Leung who used this game as a way to finance his failing forces. The metropolis of Cheung was at war, and after awhile of war time seemed to be looking at a country wide shortage of food with the excessive decrease in supplies. Cheung Leung needed to create a quick response for the financial adversity and to produce income for his forces. He thusly created the game we now know as keno and it was a great success.

Keno once was referred to as the White Pigeon Game, since the winning numbers were delivered by pigeons from larger cities to the smaller towns. The lottery ‘Keno’ was imported to the US in the 1800s by Chinese expatriates who headed to the United States for work. In those times, Keno used one hundred and twenty numbers.

Today, Keno is normally enjoyed with 80 numbers in just about all of American brick and mortar casinos along with web casinos. Keno is largely enjoyed today because of the laid back nature of wagering the game and the simple reality that there are no expertise required to play Keno. Regardless of the reality that the chances of winning are horrible, there is constantly the possibility that you will hit quite large with a tiny gaming investment.

Keno is enjoyed with 80 numbers and 20 numbers are picked each round. Gamblers of Keno can pick from two to 10 numbers and wager on them, whatever amount they want to. The payout of Keno is dependent on the bets made and the matching of numbers.

Keno has grown in universal appeal in the United States since the close of the 19th century when the Chinese characters were replaced with more familiar, US numbers. Lotteries were not covered under the legalization of gambling in the state of Nevada in 1931. The casinos changed the name of the ‘Chinese lottery’ to ‘horse race keno’ employing the concept that the numbers are horses and you are looking for your horses to come in. When a law passed that levied a tax on off track betting, casinos quickly altered the name to ‘Keno’.
