Keno Tactics That Win

It won’t generally be looked at as the sexiest game in the realm of betting, but keno has massive amounts of zealous supporters. And it should! It’s a regularly thrilling lotto-esque game that’s easy to master, readily available in a number of assorted variations, and one that may pay out mega-dollars for those who learn its numerous subtle nuances. But let’s start with the basics here.

When explaining keno to newcomers, some betting pros compare it to lotto. This is at least to some extent correct, in that both games are fundamentally numerical. However, to carry that comparison too far can be to underestimate the great many unique traits that make keno so fun. Not like bingo, keno gamblers have the freedom to select the numbers for every card.

Keno cards have a grand total of 80 numbers, but the player is furnished with an increased level of personal responsibility by being able to determine as numerous (or as few) numbers as he or she thinks is appropriate. And it doesn’t take a doctor of keno to come up with how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your chosen numbers with a standardpen like you had when you were in third grade.

After you’ve marked your numbers, take your keno card back to the nice person at the keno stand. The girl will record your numbers and then give you a receipt. Don’t misplace this (potentially) expensive bit of paper! Even if the clerk remembers your face and would like to help out, without a winning receipt in hand, you will collect exactly $.00 for your winning card.

OK, so there you have strategy #1: always make sure to keep your keno ticket. Let’s move to something a little bit more useful, what do you think?

Now that you’ve selected your numbers, settle into a comfortable keno booth and watch the action happen on a video monitor. That is where the winning numbers are shown in lights. If you marked winning numbers, mark your card aptly. Make sure not to dilly dally, or sit there congratulating yourself for too great a length of time. You want to get back to the keno booth to collect your winnings, as a new keno game will surely begin within 5 minutes.

Strategy number 2: always get back to the keno stand on time!

Assuming you can’t trust yourself to meet that 5 minute margin every time, you always retain the option of using a "multi-race" card. These include the self same set of your selected numbers on anywhere from 2 to twenty slips. When the max number of games (the same as the amount of tickets) is finished, you are then able to get off your lazy bum and go redeem your winnings.

Yet an additional choice is recognized as a "stray and play" keno slip, which normally lets you make number choices for 30 keno games or more. Golly, you can take all the time in the world and not have to fret about getting back in time to retrieve your winnings. Most "stray and play" cards are good for up to a whole year after you purchase it!

So now you know a few needed strategies for winning keno. If you are a skillful keno player, they may seem to be incredibly obvious. Still, it doesn’t hurt to brush up on the fundamentals, and if you are a novice player, every bit of direction will help make your keno gambling more exciting.
