It may not generally be thought of as the most fun game in the arena of wagering, but keno has tons of zealous players. As well it should! It’s a consistently entertaining lottery-esque game that’s a breeze to play, readily available in tons of different formats, and one that may yield mega-dollars for gamblers who learn its heaps of subtle intricacies. But let’s begin with the basics for now.
When explaining keno to amateurs, some betting pros compare it to the lottery. This is at least partially correct, in that each game is generally numerical. However, to carry that comparison too far can be to undervalue the endless unique traits that make keno so fun. Unlike bingo, keno enthusiasts have the power to select the numbers for each card.
Keno cards have a grand total of eighty numbers, but the user is accord an increased degree of personal responsibility by being able to pick as numerous (or as few) numbers as she desires. And it doesn’t take a super genius to ascertain how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark each of your desired numbers with a good old#2 pencil like you used back in school.
After you’ve marked your numbers, take your game card back to the keno pit manager at the keno stand. The clerk will record those numbers and then give you a receipt. Make sure no to drop this (potentially) expensive bit of paper! Even if the clerk remembers your face and would like to help out, without a winning slip on you, you will get exactly $.00 for your winning card.

After you’ve selected your numbers, get into a nice keno booth and observe the action unfold on a video monitor. That’s where the winning numbers show up for all to see. If you picked winners, mark your card accordingly. Sake care not to move to slowly, or sit there praising yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You need to get back to the keno stand to get your winnings, and a new drawing will almost certainly get going within a few minutes.
Strategy number 2: always make sure to get back to the keno booth on time!
Since you can’t trust yourself to meet that 5 minute margin every time, you always have the option of buying a "multi-race" ticket. These include the same set of your picked numbers on anywhere from two to 20 cards. When the maximum number of rounds (fitting the number of tickets) is played, you may then get off your lazy back side and go redeem your winnings.
Yet another opportunity is referred to as a "stray and play" keno ticket, which commonly lets you make number choices for 30 keno games or more. Hell, you can take vacation to France and not have to fret about getting back in time to collect your numbers. Most "stray and play" slips are good for up to a whole year after it’s purchased!
