It might not generally be considered the funnest game in the world of betting, but keno has loads of dedicated players. And so it should! But let’s start with the basic rules for now.

When defining keno to newbies, some betting masters compare it to bingo. This is at least in some measure apt, in that both games are basically numerical. Yet to carry that comparison too far is likely to be to devalue the innumerable unique aspect that make keno so fun. Unlike bingo, keno users have the freedom to choose the numbers for every card.

Keno cards have a total of 80 numbers, but the user is given an extra degree of personal responsibility by being able to choose as many (or as few) numbers as she desires. And it doesn’t take a keno superstar to come up with how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your chosen numbers with a good oldpen like you used back in the day.

Once you’ve selected your numbers, carry the keno card back to the keno pit manager at the keno stand. The person will record your numbers and then give you a receipt. Make sure no to misplace this (potentially) valuable bit of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers you and would like to help out, without a winning slip with you, you will collect exactly $.00 for your actions.

And there you have strategy #1: always take care to keep your keno ticket. Let us move to something a little bit more complex, yes?

Once you’ve checked off your numbers, get yourself into a comfortable keno booth and observe the action take place on the monitor. That is where the winning numbers are shown in lights. If you have winning numbers, mark your card accordingly. Be sure not to move to slowly, or sit there praising yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You really want to get up to the keno booth to get your winnings, and a new drawing will likely start within not too many minutes.

Strategy number two: always get back to the keno stand on time!

Assuming you can’t trust yourself to meet that 5 minute deadline each time, you always retain the option of buying a "multi-race" card. These include the self same set of your handpicked numbers on anywhere from two to twenty tickets. When the max amount of games (the same as the amount of tickets) is played out, you will then be able to get off your lazy butt and go redeem your winnings.

Still another option is known as a "stray and play" keno card, which generally allows you make number selection for thirty keno rounds or more. Hell, you can take an ocean cruise and not have to fret about getting back in time to redeem your winnings. Most "stray and play" slips are good for up to a whole year after purchase!

And now you know a couple of required techniques for winning keno. If you are an adept gambler, they may seem quite obvious. Still, it doesn’t hurt to bone up on the fundamentals, and if you are a novice keno player, every tiny bit of information will help make your keno gambling more captivating.
