Keno was created in 200 BC by the Chinese army commander, Cheung Leung who utilized this game as a monetary resource for his failing forces. The metropolis of Cheung was at war, and after awhile of war time appeared to be looking at a country wide famine with the dramatic decrease in supplies. Cheung Leung had to come up with a rapid fix for the financial adversity and to acquire money for his forces. He therefore designed the game we now know as keno and it was a fantastic success.

Keno was known as the White Pigeon Game, because the winning numbers were delivered by pigeons from bigger municipalities to the tinier villages. The lottery ‘Keno’ was brought to the US in the 19th century by Chinese immigrants who headed to the States to jobs. In those times, Keno was played with one hundred and twenty numbers.

Today, Keno is most often played with just 80 numbers in most of American based casinos along with internet casinos. Keno is largely played today because of the relaxed nature of wagering the game and the basic fact that there are little expertise required to play Keno. Regardless of the fact that the chances of succeeding are horrible, there is always the possibility that you might win quite large with little gaming investment.

Keno is enjoyed with 80 numbers with 20 numbers picked each game. Players of Keno can pick from two to ten numbers and gamble on them, whatever amount they are able to. The payout of Keno is dependent on the bets made and the matching of numbers.

Keno has grown in popularity in the US since the close of the 19th century when the Chinese letters were changed with more familiar, American numbers. Lottos were not covered under the legalization of gaming in Nevada State in 1931. The casinos renamed the ‘Chinese lotto’ to ‘horse race keno’ utilizing the concept that the numbers are horses and you are looking for your horses to place. When the Nevada government passed a law that levied a tax on off track gambling, the casinos quickly altered the name to ‘Keno’.
